wildetecture is sculpture

The Cape mountain lion was truly a majestic animal - i stand to be corrected - the male lion had an impressive black main and it was really  massive in size.  it  was a formidable piece of African wildlife machinery, a really massive unit. sadly because it didn't fit into the early European  settlers plans - it was completely wiped off the face of the earth. last one senselessly butchered in Swellendam around  1820 or so. (?)

working on this roughed out wildetect concept sketch - an ode to this magnificent creature. this is just a very early roughed out sketch, however the direction is clear.  huge monolithic concrete sculptured elements with smaller aluminium clad pieces between. strong glass and steel elements all fused onto table mountain itself. this rough sketch doesn't do the concept justice for now - however when its done it might just be a worthy ode to an impressive animal.
