Disintergration of perspective - wildetect art

From one of six perspectives the arranged buildings or sculptural elements merge into one object. At this vantage point a figure of an ox is created. The buildings are arranged in a hexagon and represent a different sculpture from each of the six vantage point sides. The other vantage points are represented by a man, woman , eagle, lion , horse.

Representing 2 dimensions, through 3 dimensional building positioning. This creates architectural shapes we cannot control. Which means the end product wont be to geometric but organic in nature.

Gothic revival - wildetecture style

A concept for a future wildetecture style sky scraper -  welding of organic forms and elements with machine precision - the Borg concept encapsulates this idea perfectly - i propose my 7 of 9 wildetecture gothic building.

Exploring Africa fauvistic expression ideas into the future. wildetecture design concepts we at QJD design studio and the wildetecture design drawing office are championing. As a frothing mad design enthusiast one just has to put your neck , left testicle and right ear on the creative critic chopping block. It is only then and only then true creative endeavor can be achieved. When theres much sacrificed in the build up, much is gained in the end product.

piston eye sculpture

Above my work station i have a rusted old piston head which i found deep in the namib desert 13 years ago. It now houses my growing pen collection. One of my clients creates glass eyes and unbeknown to me whilst we where discussing the design of the new house, she was sculpting my eye. Its nice to know i have my spare eye staring at me whilst i work. The piston eye wildetecture organic sculpture was born.

I also in good faith purchased a very expensive pen which i found out later is fake. so i now am the proud owner of a mont plonk pen. Which also forms part of my collection of dudads.

Architectural shadow projection - ASP wildetecture style

To my little mind (regrettably what im about to write, sadly, if it isnt the absolute truth. Prove me wrong)  As much as 80% of mans architectural designs and endeavours are simply drab structures, dull, lifeless and have absolutely no feel of any imagination. It's as if a gaggle of cost cutting accountants are the only professionals on the design team.

To my mind to achieve real Vision, Imagination and Depth to any proposed structure. Architectural forms need to go way beyond one basic living function. So for a building or buildings to create an A.S.P (architectural shadow projection) with the sunlight, it will take immense planning. The architectural forms that evolve out of this planning design process will completely change the architectural landscape. Why? Because the end product structure is not controlled by man's design thinking but the need to create a dynamic sculpture ftom the structures shadows. This will help our structures to become more than just big boxes, little boxes,  small boxes. Our creative point of departure would completely change. To truly show that we understand the subtle nuances of light and shadow - Should not our structures create sculpture within the shadows.

Architectural shadow projection A.S.P. a continued fervently explored wildetecture style design ideal we are currently looking into.

Thats worth getting excited about.

recycled plastic drawing board

The vision of a drawing board made from recycled plastic goes far beyond the actual board itself. The true concept of the board is to create a communicative link between folk living in a cape town informal settlement, industry and us designers.
as a designer who has never lived in an informal settlement, never weathered a cape storm in crossroads with my 2 kids. insecurely wondering if tomorrow tb, gangsta's or aids will come a knocking. i cannot begin to grasp the complex problems faced when trying to improve such an environment. its almost arrogant of me to impose my middle class, fish hoek upbringing on such a sensitive set of circumstances. Judith my wonderful domestic worker who has a home built by the new south African wunder design institute.(sarcastic for those out of townee's - we all know wunder is German and Germans are supposedly precise.) she tells me the rain pours through her walls during a storm. so the wunder design institute champions zippo the horse - boogger all. They seem to champion the rain through the freaking walls of her supposedly brand new rdp house. - a back handed politician in the mix. - mmmmmm me thinks. not so preciouse.
The recycled plastic drawing board represents - a better life through better design. it will hopefully come to represent a communicative link, a creative work station. outside affluent designers imposing a better way of living for squatter camp inhabitants. these designers who have never had to survive a cape town informal settlement night. cannot ever impose a system on an informal settlement family man exposed to the brutality of his everyday life. only this man, living in the circumstance can suggest realistic improvements, only he can inform the outside world of his and his families daily plight. and suggest minute improvements to this daily dilemma. from waking upbat 4am, dressing his kids to his 10km walk through squaller to the transport terminus. he is confronted with a thousand suggestions to improve these million and 1 design possibilities.
my proposal is to introduce this recycled plastic drawing board into the community centers of these settlements. industry, government the man with a buck in his pocket can pay a minimum price for every drawing eventually harvested from this system. and those ideas that are revolutionary can be taken forward and the informal settlement creator of these proposed ideas brought on board to see his vision from concept to reality. a direct link can be immediately made between improving the informal settlement environment, better design and cash is king in the pocket. - a drawing is worth a thousand words.
if the board eventually starts finding its way into homes as a creative workstation so much the better. i have shown a picture of San rock art in the jpgs above. many uninformed folks understanding of this art is that its basic and childlike. this concept is furthest from reality.
the fact that all rock paintings are derived from immediate , reality experiences make them dynamic . perspective, front on, side on, fore shortening are all displayed in rock art pictures thousands of years old. Most rock art is a unique 1 off . the renaissance painters where shouting eureka with these concepts a few hundred years ago. this is testament enough at the power of a drawing. the San artist speaking to their gods have also managed to communicate to us through time. with scholars still trying to code the exact messages sent all those years ago.
i have also included in my jpg a word in 20 different languages. unless you speak the language the word chair will mean nothing to you. however the picture of a chair is universally understood immediately. this idea has Merritt - i am currently speaking to various sponsors to make this concept a reality - i am also speaking to you if you have read this far - maybe you can help with a suggestion to get this from thought to actuality.
the concept of Bling your board will help improve the board as it progesses from wright brothers , to spitfire and eventually super sonic jet - whats next?

Madusa virus throne chair

After cape towns last massive winter storm i went on my customary beach combing walk along Muizenberg beach to Cemetery. The storm and the surging tide had pushed a huge amount of debris up onto the beach. Exciting stuff. My robinson crusoe, swiss family robinson adventure starts.- I could hardly contain myself - I say debris as it was definitely not the usual organic material I'm accustomed to sifting through - shells, driftwood, sea spoils. My sifting through process is peek cap just above the eyes to limit the overall spectrum of vision - so i can concentrate on a manageable area of view space. And i walk not to quickly but not to slowly. The area i walk on the beach is very isolated and has become a hotspot for mugging thugs. This has benefits as its not often traversed by fellow combers. The muggers have scared them off. However even the pick handle axe i carry is no match for these persistent zombie scavengers of all that is honorable and good. But fervent madness and crazy walk confidence confuses the zomby. They not sure if you a hunter or prey. I like to think my dad bod older dude look is abit duideluk.

The beach washed up debris on this day was different and bearing in mind i only actually ended up walking 1km and in that 1km i found - 22 slip slops - none matching - 30 light bulbs - munged up wetsuits - about 100 unused condoms still in their rappers - So I'm thinking theirs a crazy cult of people sacrificing wrapped condoms in the sea to prevent pregnancy, not far fetched where i live, common sense left the building along time ago. I kid you not -i found tekkies, tons of plastic rubbish , nothing to constitute the organic shell treasure I'm used to finding. So i decided to sculpt a virus madusa throne chair an ode to man and his crap in the dunes. It was a throne to all the human made crap that washed up during the storm. I had great fun dragging all the junk to my centralized location and sculpting the virus madusa throne chair. Took me a good 5 hours to sculpt this throne to man the king of the beach defiler. An ode to man the destroyer of worlds using affluence from his own forges. As humans we can collectively sit on this madusa chair and marvel at our incredibly amazing wasteful ingenuity. We cut off one polluting element and 10 greedily start to grow in its place. As a virus, which we very much are, we sure accomplish our destructive task exceedingly well - I took a photo of my VMTC but a drawing was easier to depict. The photo lost the drama. I brought in seaweed elements to exaggerate the wild organic nature effect. My drawing does not actually show the real amount of trash i used to sculpt this ode to mans idiocracy. I was subliminary still trying to make my creation look pretty into the early evening - not a good idea to be on that far part of the beach at that time - zombie mugger hour i am legend. But even muggiing thugs know crazy when they see it. I had the ferver of a mad monk. Aint nobody gonna mug a mad monk.

I harvest old slip slops found on the beach when i go surfing. The surf spot, muizenberg corner,  is about 3km from my house along the beach. I dont like surfing in front of my complex, rip currents and sharks. I generally go down either in just my baggies or my wetsuit. i don't take anything because the pirate zombie mugging thug brigade steal everything. So the harvested mismatched slip slops keep my feet protected and have absolutely no value. I don't care if they get stolen, infact its a result if they do get stolen, as it adds to the recyclable nature of the beach combing process. Plus a mugging thug pirate wearing my harvested mismatched slip slops whilst commandeering a theft heist. Now that's pretty cool really. Stolen valor i tell you.  Put that mugging theft character on the Madusa virus throne, thrown on infact  - with a 50 made up condom crown - he can be king of the mugging pirates for the day. Oh that will be so crackalacking. Chuckling i walked home in the dark as my sculpture began to blow away in the wind. A single slip slop marks the spot now. Sadly i never put a zombie mugger in place on the throne. But my imaginative kings new clothes ceremony was quite enough.

cape town super hero

In a cave deep in the cape peninsula kalkbay mountains is an ancient rock painting depicting the character we now call the cape doctor or cape of storms. this rock painting is what forms the basis my new comic character, super hero Nado Storm.

Nado Storm is Cape Towns answer to the super heroes of american culture. He stands for what is honourable and crushes all that is currupt within our system. Nado storm the comic is under construction with the first collectors story confined to just 10 first edition copies. I plan to introduce Nado the new South African super hero in a comic strip in a local news paper. starting with the beginning of the concept. a group of cavers stumble on the cave painting and unleash the understanding of the ancient cape of storm character - South Africa is so desparately in need of a spiderman or superman which is essentially a South African and can fictiously clean up the over whelming criminal element.

the energy of the ancient culture that first depicted this character has now been absorbed into all preceding inhabitants of the cape. we are all linked to the ferocity of the storms by our life styles. disrespect the earth the cape and we all reap the whirlwind.

this character or ancient warrior controls the forces of nature that unleash themselves on our Cape Town coast during winter. a Thor type hero - not a god but a universal soldier. he wears the skins of his prey - the headdress of a caracal cat, the teeth of the great white shark. the clouds and storm elements he controls are the ancient cape buffalo herds, cape lion and cape elephant that roamed our coast line for centuries and revisit us to remind us of their existence. a swirling mass of animal storm clouds , a reminder that shows us we are not far off from becoming extinct ourselves.

the character is of no race and represents us all, he does not represent any 1 culture. he is an amalgamation of the rich tapestry of culture which is cape town. the ancient San and Hottentots used to wear the skins of their prey, I propose the character also wears a lorica segmantata - which keys him into a European influence. The cave painting deep in the kalkbay mountains needs to be revealed to the world. Nado is ready to do battle with the Gangsta element of our society. bring the rain.

attached please find jpgs of the character along with the cave paintings depicting the character.

Nado Storm , Doctor Cape and squall are awaiting their launch - Capetonian criminals beware - Nado storm takes absolutely no prisoners.

stark raven mad

A latest sculpture - an ode to minions of a deceased architectural designer.
Maybe going into the new century we need a fresh outlook to our architectural future. The crow raven blinkered perspective sculpture.
