book launch

i have been trying to write the ultimate short story for many years. like most of us, these tales sit collecting dust in our desk draws and are rarely read. i truly love and am passionate about a story that has a twist or a unique revelation of sorts at the end. i have finally decided to publish a few of these tales and like any of my creative endeavours - i risk saying far to much.

i have decided to publish under my own ARTSMAD label, which is my surname backwards. I have employed this technique whilst creating names of towns, places and people in my various tales. Grebnezium is the town Yip Trip is improving through better design, it also happens to be my home town.

STORY ONE -
Arachnid sunrise is a science fiction story -
Ive written it from the perspective of someone trying to get a warning of impending destruction to the oblivious , whilst evading vicious enemies. chapter 1 can be found at - www.arachnidsunrise.blogspot.com

a technique i have employed to launch the arachnid sunrise is to put old leather folders together with the story inside. These folders are filled with objects i find in charity shops. interesting items like compasses, rulers, pens, pictures, old photographs and old maps. i then leave these at stations, airports, restaurants worldwide. whenever a friend goes traveling they leave these little packages where ever. so far in the town of Whitby - where Dracula came to shore in England, Dubai airport, on British rail to London, Heathrow and all over Cape Town. i was inspired by the book crossing craze and enjoy blurring reality and make believe. I imagine the folk who find them looking for the owner and wondering what the blue blazers they've stumbled upon. perhaps running home and hiding under the bed - a place i used to find solace from life's killer noonoos. (i say used to - i just cant fit under their anymore.)

Ive also started harvesting bottles from my beach combing and am releasing them back in the wild with a passenger - my story. Ive always wanted to find a message in a bottle on the beach.

STORY CONCEPT TWO
a few of my other short tales are - Frederiks donkey, matters of the mind, Petus's lesson. They are also published and you can find them on a blog site called the South African short stories. http://www.qjdstory.blogspot.com/

well if their is anyone finding their way to this blog - i hope you enjoy reading a story with a twist.
