Wild creative conceptual design is not design if it isn't upsetting the complete apple cart. The visceral reaction to anything that's not a square box is a complete plague.
However if one must just try to take a wild design idea to pieces once its been sitting over time. You might just end up losing more than an ear or an eye. Like the Eiffel Tower, Sydney opera house scandalous, well until all its visceral detractors die.
