Permission! They all shout with such tyranical ferver their collective heads threatening to pop off. Just held in place by a single blue vein of reason. Anyway since when does any artist across any age ever need to ask anyone for permission to be inspired by a previous century artists work? -If your asking or waiting for permission to be a creative artist - simply put - (whisper this for effect) You might not be what you think you are? An artist!!
Artistic fine arts degrees, artistic certificates, artistic knighthoods or some other prestigious artistic award or accolade is not what makes one an artist. Its fantastic if an artist reaches these incredible levels of validation. 99% of us passionate artists never even make a gallery wall.
Simply to my mind its an artists portfolio of artistic work that counts. No matter how humble, terrible or grand the portfolio speaks volumes to ones artistic abilities. Dont get overly distracted by the stroking of artistic academic ego. I do enjoy the long reams of the artistic degreed introductions to an artists work. But ultimately for most its the art work itself that lives or dies in the publics eyes.
When simply the artists portfolio of work is more powerful than any certificate of immense study under the tuterage of others with immense artistic degrees. All these degreed artists keeping art gallery doors shut for the unwashed and unsanitised fake artistic rabble stinking up the outside areas. All smelling disgustingly like the dirty ol town streets from whence they came... Good golly thats so cynical@!? Have you met artistic critics?
Real artists ladies and gentleman live and die on those dirty ol town streets. Where they gain much inspiration from the vile and insensitive, the unwashed and smelly to express the sublime and the sentient.
