Huge Cape of storms

Cape Town is known for its wild winter storms. Infact one is raging right this second. I hear the steady drip into the pots and buckets weve spread out the house. Each knew leak spot examined and a pot or bucket found to welcome the new water course. At this rate im going to have to start using coffee cups to stem the red sea tide. I tried to start the fire earlier but the wind howls down the flew. Making it impossible, i had to open the front and back doors or die of smoke inhalation. The icy wind was rather a wakeup as i stood in my summer PJ's and slippers in the midst of an indoor tempest. Looking like Garfield, eyes half cast and super miffed off holding matches. I thought of mizzen mast strapping myself to a kitchen chair, with a bottle of jack, shouting wild challenges in the teeth of the wind like an old sea captain. But age has taught me, the recovery of liver and head is not worth the 1 hour of invincibility. So i just Garfielded it out. Closed the doors, spent the hour cleaning ash off my dog.

Ive decided to work from bed, its warm and the cacophony of pot drips is rather todays music inspired. Free modern music with roof ripping cymbals and a neighbors gutter clang. The exact state of current music trends these days, mostly this wild sound over a classic cover. Mozart would be turning in his grave im sure. But who needs orchestrated music when you have the genius of a vuvuzela? Um rhetorical!!

I keep getting weather warning messages, roof blown off here, flooding there. Its reality TV with a twist really. As im involved on the actual set. Awaiting a part in the show.  So far my wild weather experience hasnt alerted any disaster management teams. Wow the wind has changed, its now battering the other side of the house. Which means i can attempt to light my fire again.

I dont have any real direction im going with this writing. Other than i should be working and i dont feel like it. The rain is relentless, my ash dog is now lying next to me. And we looking at each other each time the wild wind forces a huge creak in the roof. Which is often now. Perhaps i might get a mention on the current trending disaster weather reality shows. That are sending pictures to whatsup groups and granny chat forems.

The weather has escalated somewhat now. Im going to now pull the duvet over my head. Ive heard this gives one a sense of calm while the world rages on around one. Ive heard its how todays psychologist advise clients. Just get a weighted blanket and sleep soundly. Not sure how that helps with the real storm but it certainly keeps you calm as one struggle to breath under pressure!

Yikkels that was rather a large gust now, i think i might move to the bath. Dogs not going to be happy. He gives a proper Garfield rendition. Ive decided to get dressed and have all my storm clothes on, at least that way when the roof comes off im semi ready. See you on the other side. Hello. Crash boom bang!!
