Namibian lodge proposals - wildetecture style.

QJD design studio has had the immense privilege of proposing 2 very different lodge design proposals in the Namibian desert -keying into the ever evolving wildetecture design style ideas.

1) The Moroccan inspired wildetect concept

2) The erxell concept - earth branding concept - The idea was to create an image from the architecture outlined in the desert. To be viewed from above as per the Nazca Indian impressions in the Peruvian desert or crop circles in the English countryside. QJD keyed the Namibian lodge structure into a stylized bunch of grapes from the air (the structures proposed position is the biggest grape farm in the southern hemisphere.) The structure from the ground elevation would resemble a hill. Limiting the amount of straight man made lines. The pergolas and edges of the structure created the curves and would give the overall structure less of a man made look and be more an organic artistic sculptural composition.

One must always keep in mind the wise words of Raymond loewy when proposing any new design concept - MAYA - most advanced yet acceptable.

The desert is always an incredible place to create absolute drama - Wildetecture will be designing an eventual creative space deep in the Karoo, Namib or Kalahari deserts. Taking care to keep to the principles of earth branded architecture, perceived kinetic architecture, architectural shadow projection, disintegration of perspective, human driven architectural mechanisms and all the other wildetecture architectural concepts that fascinate us and continue to inspire us to dream.

A complete obsession of wildetecture design studio is to create a wildetecture inspired structure very deep in one of Africa's deserts - Far away from the red tape machine, away from the maddening crowds stifling creative thought. We are slowly identifying with the brave folk of yesteryear who pioneered the unknown spaces by moving west or trekking north or sailing towards the unknown horizon. To get away from the accountant like over regulated towns and cities of Europe or areas governed by those who would delight at rearranging your furniture. Unfortunately a new frontier sailing trip with ox wagons and tools is not provided for the current pioneering spirit anymore. However dreams and visions are the sancitity of the creative sane. Its the insane who feel normalised by the sounds of a neighbor's toilet flushing, instead of the wild sound of a real lions Africa wild freedom roar.

Imagine looking up and seeing nothing but stars and knowing your nearest neighbor does not stand on 2 legs. And if he does hes very hairy - No i dont mean the hairy dude with the gold chain necklace 3 doors down from you in over ctowded suburbia. I mean an Africa free wild animal - What an absolute pleasure.

Erxell ruler for sale

Over the last 3 years i have given out over 300 Erxell concept rulers.

The Erxell ruler is derived from the ancient cubit unit of measure ie 3 cubits X 3 cubits = 1 erxell square. The idea keys into the Erxell concept of actual earth branding and the selling off of a graphic earth image. Much like pixels off a computer screen - Only Erxells are overlaid on the earth surface.

The reality of any knew design idea that is left of center or off the beaten track. You simply wont get any traction from wild ideas that are not main stream. That is perfectly ok, As a creative you immediately feel ones crazy ideas are going to have huge merit. However you soon realise that is not the case. I remember several years ago i created wildetecture skate board decks that looked like swords from a viking convention 1030ad.

I skated one of my wildetecture deck designs around my complex. The young skateboard crew at first where intrigued. However the concept was an over reach of where reality was at that point. One realises as a designer you need to reign in ones ideas to bite size understanding. A car beyond a car is a radical threat. MAYA most advanced yet acceptable.

I have no doubt some of the wild design ideas put forward by wildetecture. Will fly and have merit. However im not holding my breath i will be around to see that ever happen. However its not going to stop the design wildetecture wild mindset right now.

So wildetecture has given out many Erxell rulers. They are a mini artworks. They will be sellable one day. Why? Because they represent wild unfettered design artistic creativity. They represent a moment to think wild design. None of this only get inspired by incredible moments. Its about being inspired to create all of the time. Its a flip switch in your own brain. Just next to the im worth nothing switch. So learn to flip the right switch and beat this AI at its own copy con game. Keep on human cranial thinking, keep being creative, keep being wildly artistic. Dont ever stop being artistic no matter how insecure technology makes you feel or the feelings of your own lack of ability. Just keep pushing your own unique artistic creative design expressions. Because nobody in the stream of time is as artistically unique as you are. Thats a real fact. None of this AI is that incredible artistic hype, its harvested knowledge but its not fleshly alive. its just streams of stolen data, its not sentient?? Although the snake oil salesmen will tell you otherwise. Dogs will know the difference just watch terminator. (Joke)

You are creatively incredible, dont ever forget that important fact!!!. Now go be human inspired artistically creative. You will soon know the difference between a genuine human interaction and a copy con machine. A cold calculative heart vs warm not so perfect artistic flesh.

QJD wing back chair

The wingback chair as interpreted by QJD design studio - I use several render packages to get to my final sketches. I believe one has to have your own unique style when presenting your work - Hence i favour using 1 package to create the model. 1 package to render and 1 package to compose the end product. As some of my design work revolves around CAD packages i compile all my initial models in ZWCAD. I then export my model into the next package and tweak and

adjust and then move on to the next. Its how i chose to work at the moment - which works for me.

Informal settlement branding - wildetecture style

The informal settlements along the N1 highway in cape town are in desperate need of many advancements however colour is just a small improvement. My proposal which keys into my 2007 Erxell concept will give direct payment to an informal home owner.

Big corporates do a huge amount for communities that are finding life challenging - How can my little QJD design studio make a difference to families living under these deplorable conditions - Well one family at a time for starters - The need to improve living conditions in these communities is seriously overdue - The erxell concept proposal is to give residual income to a corrugated iron home owner whilst wrapping his home in paid for by the advertising machine signage.

In the process getting advertising to pay for waterproofing the exposed to the extreme elements structures. By that i mean, wind, rain and fire. Attached is the first side wall branded informal settlement home - Nado Storm cape town comic hero branded informal settlement home. - These informal settlement structures are temporary and simply introducing some colour to these structures whilst the occupants await there promised government RDP homes from the this current government, will add an exciting touch to these drab destitute current built environment landscape structures. Dont get me wrong these communities need far more than just a splash of colour. At the moment they are absolutely nothing but landlords like ticks sucking the life out of a family trying to survive poverty. Dont expect the government to get involved in helping the little informal settlement families. They are weighted more on the tick side of this sad equation. Whilst families suffer under fire storms that rip through communities. Ive been there when someone just starts making a huge bonfire in a howling south easter wind. Its called informal settlrment for a reason, there is no formal structures to deal with characters behaving outside of what is socially acceptable. Infact its not uncommon for the community to take the law into their own hands and exact justice on those deemed to be behaving badly. Im sure the SA police will have stories to tell of community kangaroo courts. Im not making things up, its common knowledge. Sadly im sure many innocents are caught up in this immediate rough justice backlash approach of control.

Whats needed is far more input than just simple colour to be honest. However i dont sadly see these built environment informal settlements getting the important attention they so immensely need right now.

Perhaps small colour will help start paving the future informal settlement built environment way?

QJD design studio - frankenchair

To conform to a new phase 2 creative design idea strategy - i am unveiling the ''FRANKENCHAIR'' i am sharing some of my conceptual ideas with you and hopefully you find some inspiration in these roughed out sketches.

Design is really as design does, sculptural furniture form is bringing in wild aesthetic into very small living spaces. You can't easily have wild sculptures and furniture in a small space. However you can combine the 2.aesthetucs in a small space. Visual artistic manuevres in confined small spaces. Even tiny space challenges can always enjoy sculptural art. This sculptural form is the end product.

Charlie & charlize chit chat chairs

Charlie and Charlize chit chat chairs are furniture accessory wildetecture pool lounges. A super deco status pool accessory. Sculptured pool furniture style design.

They come with enough tude to sort out the prema- dons from the donnas. And sufficient bling to spark a revolution of dialogue. Hence the chit chat part.

QJD research & development

Phase 1 - Over the last 5 years Ive been exploring with different advertising angles. Trying to get what i do and offer out there. I thought showing my target group im a creative was enough. Not so it seems.

1) Ive had the small but subtle clues leading to my website approach in 2005 - Printed In magazine advertisements that showed QJD design studio and no contact details other than my name. My reasoning was to get folk to google my info and interact with the business from their. The mystery discovery approach - appeal to the mystety fiscoverer. Meh!! didnt work. Turns out the masses dont like homework puzzles. Not a bite.

2) Ive had the leaving old leather folders in airports round the world approach in 2008. Also the same info put in old bottles thrown into the sea. With encrypted clues and hidden messages. All leading to my erxell website.

Google - Grebnezium, yip trip , nado storm and a host of other cooked up design ideas and see what i mean. I received the grand total of 1 hit from someone who found a bottle in Arniston and told me they found it. Not a huge advertising success TBH.

3)The first chapter written sci-fi story - Arachnid sunrise - also put in sea harvested bottles approach in 2009, again very secret squirrel. Nudda, it was like the sea kept all its stories hidden.

4) Ive written a few whacked out short stories and poems and left them around the world using various mediums. Nuffing.

5) the decal on my car with no numbers mystery cteative design man. Turns out hieroglyphics is not a decipherable past time.

All 5 concepts phase 1 sufficiently whacky and off the wall which suites my experimental advertising approach. Well in all this Ive deduced.

IF YOUR NOT HAVING IN YOUR FACE ADVERTISING CAMPAIGN, YOUR NOT GOING TO GET THE EXPOSURE.

People don't want to use treasure maps to find you, the 2 bites of the cherry is not an advertising concept - Especially if the first bite is ity bity small and unclear. If your not coke or pepsing your add campaigns - don't expect bums on seats.

So ladies and gentlemen I'm now going to try.

QJD design studio, Erxell and all the other concepts on roids approach. Starting with putting all my designs out there. Im now beefing up the ad campaign, beeeg time. No more mr subtle nancy fancy 2 shoes mystery pants. This show is going on the road - well in the very least im going to stand infront of my office in the road and dodge the cars shouting my campaign to get clients.

Actual built end product designs. Lets see how enormous this advertising approach can get.

(Turns out, because you can add stuff in blogs in 2025 - not so enormous. If the masses aint ready for your design creative madness. Your nut noodle aint getting sponsored off the runway.)

T-shirt - by qjd design studio

One day i will buy one of these cars. Until then i will just showcase my ambition on a T shirt. This car represents design way before its time. Minds that think of ideas before the mainstream are very rare and refreshing. The many features designed on this car showcased design thinking way before anyone else.
